SPRINGFIELD M1D GARAND
The original Garand M1D sniper rifle.
The rifle was rebuilt in 1952 by the US ARMY. The original WWII chambering dates back to 1943 ( number 1984505 ).
As part of a program to build sniper rifles, Springfield in 1952 replaced the barrel ( to model D731255 M ) along with a stamped Springfield Armory logo.
The rifle’s lock – the original one dates from the chamber’s production period and was not replaced after the war ( number D28287-12SA )
